Built by people who have written emergency plans for a living.
Emergency Safety Planning comes from a team of career emergency-management and law-enforcement practitioners, and a technologist who turned what they know into a tool anyone can use.
Ray Jones, our emergency-management lead.
Ray has been instrumental in teaching emergency management in New Jersey, and his experience shapes every part of this product.
After September 11, Ray was tasked with teaching police officers how to respond to weapons of mass destruction — training that included emergency management — and he delivered it to police departments across New Jersey.
Over his career he has written emergency management plans for a major New Jersey university, and he has developed plans across private industry: schools, warehouses, small businesses, and more.
Ray is also an instructor for the New Jersey State Police, teaching the Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) course that every security officer in the state must complete to be licensed. Emergency management is a chapter of that curriculum.
A plan in a binder that nobody has read is not a plan.
Over and over, we saw organizations with a plan sitting in a binder that nobody had read — or no plan at all. Daycares, churches, and small businesses can’t afford a consultant, so we built a tool that lets any organization build a real plan themselves and keep it up to date.
